The plans shown received
planning permission from Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council
in September 2002. The costs of demolition and building the hall as
shown is £300,000.00
In February 2006 that sum was secured through parish donations, fund
raising and grants from various bodies. Work commenced on the project
build on 2nd May 2006 and is anticipated to be completed by 31st October
2006.
The Parochial Church Council has now committed itself to the redevelopment
of the Parish Hall (formerly known as the Mission Room). This hall
is used extensively by the parish and other community groups but
is itself now in need of repair and renewal. Donations and fundraising
are already in hand while the Parish Architect is formulating a
report for the PCC to consider and use as a basis to consult with
the wider parish and community.
